Brocolli Garlicky fry

Whenever I go to Italian Restaurants with my colleagues, my favorite salad is Broccoli with pepper powder and pesto sauce. The aroma of pesto (crushed garlic and basil leaves) together with crunchiness of broccoli will definitely take you to heaven. My family members are not great fan of European foods. So I tried this broccoli in Indianised version and it came out very well. Here goes the recipe.

Ingredients :

Broccoli - 1 floret
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Garlic - 4 flakes
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Method :

Take broccoli floret and wash it thoroughly with running water. Cut the florets in small bite sized pieces and put in a hot boiling water for 5 minutes. (You can microwave for 5 minutes) .

In a pan, add oil, splutter mustard and cumin seeds. Add chopped garlic flakes and saute the onions till it turns pink. Now add red chilli powder, pepper powder and coriander powder, mix it well with sauteed onion.

Add the cut brocolli florets and stir it in a low flames for 5 minutes. Adjust the salt & pepper powder according to your taste.

Serve hot with Rice or Roti. Happy cooking !!

Ps : You can add roasted sesame seeds at the last. But this is optional.
