Panagam (Friday Spl recipe)

Its Friday here already. Days really running very fast. Each Friday I have a habbit of preparing sweet either in the form of Payasam or any drink. This week I am kinda busy in cleaning the house, getting prepared for new year 2014.Though I have all work, I cannot stop dedicating something to God (Neiveidhyam) especially on Friday. So I prepared very easy Friday special Recipe " Panagam". For those who dont know the ingredients for Panagam, I would like to share few points. Panagam is a traditional Indian Festival drink prepared from Jaggery with the flavour of Elachi. Jaggery is good for joint pain, Menstrual pain and aids in digestion. I prefer to add dry ginger and pepper as it is very good for coldIts a quick energy booster as well. Lets go for the recipe.



Ingredients :

Jaggery - 1/2 cup (powdered)
Pepper corn (Optional) - 2 seeds
Cardamom - 1 (Big)
Dry Ginger powder - 1/2 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
Water - 1 3/4 cup

Method :

Soak powdered Jaggery in water for 20 minutes. Wait till it get dissolve completely. Filter it to remove impurities.
Now crush pepper corn and cardamom to coarse powder. Add the powder to filtered Jaggery, followed by adding dry ginger powder and Lemon Juice. Mix it well. Serve Chilled or at room temperature.
